Build with Manas Builder
Build and change your own agents and skills by describing them to Manas Builder; nothing is saved until you confirm the card.
Manas Builder is an agent that builds agents and skills with you. Tell it the job; it picks the model and the fewest tools, writes the instructions, turns step-by-step procedures into skills, reviews the draft, and prepares it. Nothing is created, changed or shared until you press Confirm on the card it shows you. This is true whatever your Approvals setting: an agent's or skill's instructions run every time it's used, so you always check them first.
You can still do everything by hand in Agent Builder (Build your own agent); Manas Builder is the faster way when you know the job but not the settings.
Where to use it
- Manas web: pick Manas Builder in the Agent Marketplace, or just ask Manas to "build me an agent that…" and it hands you over.
- Slack: in your DM with @manas, start with
+builder, e.g.+builder make an agent that writes our weekly ad report. - Not in Slack channels: building is personal, so ask in your DM.
Build an agent
Say what the agent is for
One job, for whom, and what it needs, e.g. "An agent that reads our sales tracker in Drive and answers questions about it, for the sales team." Manas Builder checks the agents you already have first, so it changes one instead of making a copy.
Let it draft and review
It chooses a model Manas offers and only the tools the job needs, writes the instructions, and runs its review: one clear job, the fewest tools, conversation starters, a hand-back to Manas, sensible sharing, instructions you can test.
Check the card
A confirm card arrives in your Slack DM with Manas (or a confirm page in the web). It shows exactly what will be saved: the name, model, the tools by app (e.g. Tattva: ask), instructions, who can use it (Only you. Ask Builder to share it.), its Slack name (e.g. +sales-helper) and, for a change, what changes (lines added and removed, tools added and removed). It also shows Review: N suggestions. Nothing on the card can be edited: to change it, ask Builder.
Confirm, or apply the suggestions
- Apply suggestions: Manas Builder revises the draft with the review's suggestions and sends a new card.
- Confirm as is: saves it exactly as shown.
- Cancel: nothing is saved.
The card expires after 15 minutes. If the agent changed in the meantime, Confirm refuses and Manas Builder prepares it again.
Test it, then share
The confirmation (Created Sales Helper, private to you.) has a Try it link to a new chat with your agent. In Slack, use it with + and its whole name in lower case with hyphens: Sales Helper is +sales-helper. Try a few real requests; ask Manas Builder for changes ("make the answers shorter", "add the Tattva tool"). When it works, ask it to share the agent.
Skills
Ask "turn this into a skill" or "make a skill for our weekly ad report". Manas Builder checks your skills for overlap, writes the steps, reviews the description (so the skill is picked at the right time) and sends a card. Attach a skill to an agent by asking: "attach weekly-ad-report to my Ads agent." See Skills.
Sharing
Manas Builder shares with named colleagues as viewer (they use it, in the web and in Slack) or editor (they can also change it), and lists an agent in the Agent Marketplace only when you ask for everyone. Sharing needs a Manas role that may share; if yours can't, it says so: ask a Manas admin to share it. See Share an agent.
Deleting
Ask "delete my Sales Helper agent" or "delete the weekly-ad-report skill". The card asks Delete agent Sales Helper? This can't be undone with Delete and Keep; nothing is deleted until you press Delete. People you shared it with lose it too.
What it never does
It never saves or deletes anything you didn't confirm, and works only with your own access: you can change only agents and skills you can edit, and delete only ones you may delete (usually your own). Manas's own agents (Manas, Tattva, Computer, Image Studio, Artifact AI, Manas Admin, Manas Builder) are built-in: Manas Builder never changes, shares or deletes them. It says, for example, Tattva is one of Manas's built-in agents, so only the Manas team can change it. I can make you your own agent based on it instead. For Manas itself it says Manas itself is set up by the Manas team, so I can't change it. I can make you your own agent based on it instead. Say yes and it prepares a copy of that agent as your own, to confirm like any new agent.
