What it is
A skill is a saved how-to: a short name, one line on when to use it, and the steps. Manas sees the skills you have, picks one when your request fits it, and follows its steps. A skill you save is private to you until you share it.
When to use it
- A task you ask for often, done the same way: a weekly report, a review checklist, a reply template.
- A format your team always wants: headings, tone, what to include and what to leave out.
- Steps you keep pasting into chats.
How to use it
- Chat with Manas in Manas web, or DM @manas in Slack.
- Say what to save, for example: "Save this as a skill: the weekly ad report. Use it when I ask for the ad report. Steps: …" You can also do the task once and then say "save what we just did as a skill".
- Manas saves it and tells you its name. Only you can see it.
- Next time, just ask for the task. Manas uses the skill when it fits; you can also name it: "use the weekly-ad-report skill".
- To read, change, delete or share it, open Skills in Manas web.
Ready-made skills
Three skills from the Manas team are shared with everyone at Kapiva. If one isn't on yet, switch it on in Skills.
- meeting-prep: "prep me for my 3 pm". Who is coming, your last emails and Slack threads with them, and related Drive files.
- inbox-triage: "triage my inbox". What needs your reply first, what can wait, and drafts for the top ones (saved only after you confirm).
- close-the-loop: "close the loop on today's meeting". The decisions and next steps, as Google Tasks or a follow-up draft, each confirmed by you.
Good to know
- Skills you save are private. Share one from Skills in Manas web.
- A skill someone shares with you is used only after you switch it on in Skills.
- In a Slack channel Manas answers as the channel, not as you: it cannot save skills there and does not use your personal ones. Ask in a DM instead.
- Keep a skill short and specific: clear steps work better than long essays.
If something goes wrong
- Manas says it cannot save skills here
- You are in a Slack channel. DM @manas or use Manas web.
- Manas did not use your skill
- Name it in your request, e.g. "use the weekly-ad-report skill".
- A skill shared with you is not used
- Open Skills in Manas web and switch it on.
